Part XVI –

"All that's left are beautiful memories." – Vamps.

Arthur's Point of View

The first time I heard about vampires in my town, I thought it was all a farce. A big hoax, yet I was bitten by one of them. They wanted me to become a vampire on purpose, because they wanted to use me as their pawn. But they never thought that a man like myself would kill them. I killed my creator the worst possible thing for a vampire to do.

After I met Alfred, who was turned into a vampire at a younger age than me, I began to become much more sympathetic towards others. Alfred had turned his brother into a vampire because he couldn't resist the thirst. After a few years of terrorizing several towns, I found Francis. He was a total arse, but he was a good friend to have. He never wanted to become a priest, he never was going to, but he knew more about god and Satan than any other priest I had seen.

After Francis, Chika came into my life. Alfred had received an injury one night, trying to protect her. After that she would take animals to Matthew and would take human blood from Blood Banks to Alfred. I found out she was an orphan and took her in. I had little patience for her and the two boys I was taking care of, but in the end I became attached to those three.

What kind of vampire am I? I fell into the trap of affection for them. When Chika took us to the little town we're living in, I knew that I would find that one person I would do anything for. Alfred and Matthew are young; they don't need to find one yet. But I have lived for about 150 years, it was about time. The first time I saw her, was when Chika decided to join the hunter squad she was in. She wanted to get close to her.

When, I saw her, I thought she was a jewel much more beautiful than any diamond I had ever seen. Her (hair color and hair length) matched her beautiful (eye color) eyes perfectly. When, I saw her smile, it was like I had a dagger cut into my chest. I was suddenly, watching her as she hunted, trying to see when she needed protection.

However, Francis had told me that my wife would be just like Chika's parents. I will be Satan and she will be saintly. He wasn't wrong. I was a vampire, she was a hunter. Although, she was never religious, all hunters had saintly blood. Ludwig, for example, is damned for all eternity, because he has been tainted. I didn't want to taint, my sweet little __________. I wanted her to remain saintly.


Nevertheless, that night I needed her blood. After, going about three years without human blood, I had to have some of it. I went into frenzy that night, trying to attack Romano and trying to take her for myself. Thank god Chika stopped me before I could do anything stupid. Yet, it was all over now, she was tainted.

Stopping the Nordic vampires was my idea. They were the ones who changed Alfred into a leech. They were the ones that killed Chika's father. And they were the ones that were going to take her away. My intention was never to get __________ involved; I wanted to keep her away from that. I don't want her to see me when I am in battle. It's a horrible image to see a vampire fighting against his own.

Now, she knows everything. If she were to die when fighting the Nordic vampires, I have the choice of making her a vampire as well. She will be tainted by my hands. I couldn't bring myself to taint her, but I could never bring myself to let her die. If the time came, then I would change her into a vampire. If she was on the verge of death, I wouldn't think twice about it and do it. I don't want to lose her. If I did it would be the end of me.


It may sound stupid but it's something deeper than love.
